FayettePeachtree City Library to Close over MLK Jr. Weekend1/8/12 Peachtree City Library will be closed from Friday, January 13 through Monday, January 16, due to a major upgrade to the PINES system. The last meeting of the year, and the last Commission meeting for outgoing Commissioners' Jack Smith and Eric Maxwell, was jam-packed with controversial votes. The Commission voted to approve the conceptual plan for the 3rd phase of the West Fayetteville Bypass, changed the rules regarding the selection of members to the Board of Elections, renewed the contract for the the County Administrator, Jack Krakeel and the County Attorney, Scott Bennett... and they received an earful from a variety of Fayette voters. Former County Commissioner Harold Bost blasted members of the commission for calling him a "disgraced" former commission and for saying he left office under pressure. All in all, the Commission closed the year with a bang. |
