Spring Break Special at Fernbank Museum Offers Spring Break Savings for Families!

Apple iTunes

ATLANTA—Just in time for Spring Break ‘10, Fernbank is springing for up to $10 of your ticket purchase.  Now through April 18, Fernbank Museum is offering a “SPRING BREAK SPECIAL” to keep young minds working while they get the week off.

The Spring Break Special* includes two options:

Save $5 off the purchase of two museum admission tickets, or for the best value, save $10 off the purchase of two Value Pass tickets (which include admission to the Museum and an IMAX film).

The Museum will fill the days of Spring Break with plenty to do, including these top 10 reasons to spring over to Fernbank in the coming week:

10. Enjoy EGG-cellent family fun at Fernbank’s Dinosaur Egg Hunt, Saturday, April 3. Radio Disney AM 590 will be here to keep the party going with games, music and more.

9. We’re giving away 2 free IMAX® tickets! Purchase a new or renewing membership April 3 through April 11 and receive 2 IMAX® passes.* Members enjoy free Museum admission, discounts on IMAX® and much more! Levels start at just $60. Join now and then join us during summer break for the special exhibition Geckos: Tails to Toepads (opens May 28).

8. Enjoy a parents’ night out! Join us Friday, April 2 and Friday April 9 for Fernbank’s Martinis & IMAX®. It’s more than just dinner and a movie, Martinis & IMAX® is Atlanta’s perfect mix of culture and cocktails.

7. Out-of-town visitors will especially enjoy a journey through the state’s diverse geologic regions on a voyage through the coast, swampland, mountains, valleys, caves, and more in the permanent exhibition A Walk Through Time in Georgia. Be sure to download a special Bird Bingo Family Guide before your visit.

6. Plaza picnic anyone? Spring in Atlanta practically begs for a picnic and Fernbank’s Dinosaur Entrance Plaza provides the perfect setting. Bring your own lunch or purchase something yummy from The Fernbank Café. (Don’t worry, the dinosaurs won’t ask for a bite of your sandwich.) And don’t forget to visit the Museum Store to pick up something to commemorate your visit.

5. When it comes to movies, think BIG, so skip the multiplex and catch a flick on the biggest screen in town! See Forces of Nature and Arabia, now showing daily in Fernbank’s IMAX® Theatre.

4. Come face-to-face with the world’s largest dinosaurs, Argentinosaurus and Giganotosaurus, in the permanent exhibition Giants of the Mesozoic.

3. Special hands-on programming will be offered in the Naturalist Center. Activities vary from live animal encounters to science explorations and more. Dates and time will vary. Become a fan on Facebook for daily updates and be sure to check the activity sign when you arrive at the Museum.

2. Weather can be wacky. Discover the science behind the storms in the special exhibition, Nature Unleashed: Inside Natural Disasters, now on view. Learn how—on a planet fueled by heat—tornadoes, hurricanes, volcanoes and earthquakes are simply signs that the engine is running through a series of multimedia displays and hands-on interactives.

1.       Some experiences you just can’t download. Make family fun personal again—visit Fernbank Museum this spring break and make a connection to what really matters.

Fernbank Museum of Natural History is located at 767 Clifton Road NE in Atlanta. For directions, visitor information, tickets and more, visit www.fernbankmuseum.org or call 404.929.6300.
