5/13/09 This summer, explore a range of topics, engage in quality activities, and expand upon creative skills. Every week has a new theme, so choose your favorites and join us.

·          Mystery in the City: Haunts and Habitats, June 8-12 (GRADES 5-9)
·          Stories in Pictures: Creating Comics, June 15-19 (GRADES 5-9)

Kids Get Free Shoes & Learn From Kenyans at Reebok’s Mountain High Running Camp

3/26/09 Mountain High Running Camp will once again offer high school cross country runners the chance to live and train with elite Kenyan distance runners. The camp, held July 13 -18, is open to runners of all abilities, from beginners to state champions, and is the only summer running camp that provides a brand new pair of Reebok running shoes, making it the best camp value in the US.

Set up in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains just below 6,700-ft Mt. Mitchell, the highest peak in the East, the camp offers beautiful trails, expert instruction and lots of fun.

Summer Camp for Children

5/17/09 The Brooks United Methodist Church Preschool will be hosting four summer camps this summer. There will be two camps in June and two camps in July. Camps are for children ages two through rising second graders. Camp hours are Monday – Thursday from 9:00am – 1:00pm and the cost is $120.00 per camp with half due at registration.

Camp themes are as follows:

June 15 – 18 – At The Farm (registration closes June 8th)

June 22 – 25 – Buggin’ Out (registration closes June 15th)

July 6 – 9 – Under the Sea (registration closes June 29th)

July 20 – 23 – Rainforest Adventure (registration closes July 13th)

McIntosh Chiefettes Summer Dance Camps

The award-winning MHS Chiefettes Dance Team will host their 16th Annual Dance Mini-Camp in two sessions this summer. Camp is open for girls in Pre-K through 8th Grade.

Session 1 will be June 22-25th at JC Booth Middle School.

Session II will be July 13-16th at McIntosh High School.  Each session runs from 9-12:30 each day, with a recital on the last day following camp. 

Participants are divided by age, learn dance fundamentals, and are taught two choreographed routines each session. Different routines are taught each session.  Cost is $95 for registration and participants will receive a t-shirt, snacks and recital gift.  Early registration assures your dancers’ placement!   Deadlines: June 11th for Session I and July 2nd for Session II. (Late registration cost is $100 and is subjectto space/ t-shirt availability).

Community Invited to Brooks UMC VBS – July 13 – 17

6/16/09 CAMP E.D.G.E. VBS will be held July 13th through the 17th. It is not your typical stroll through the woods! It's an action-packed expedition that teaches kids that their strength and might come from God. VBS will meet from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Monday through Friday. There will be a luncheon and a small closing program for parents on Friday that will begin at 11:30 am. Ages 3 – 5th grade are encouraged to join for an action packed week of fun. Call 770-719-7593 to register or email. There is a $10.00 registration fee per child this year to help cover material costs. Brooks UMC is at 119 Morgan Mill Road in Brooks GA, just three miles south of Starrs Mill on the corner of Morgan Mill and 85 Connector.

North Fayette United Methodist Church Invites Children to the E.D.G.E.

5/26/09 All children, ages 4 years through 5th. grade, are invited to attend Camp E.D.G.E. Vacation Bible School at North Fayette United Methodist Church, 847 New Hope Road. Camp E.D.G.E. will take place June 1 -5, each evening from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Camp E.D.G.E. takes your children to an extreme adventure camp where they Experience and Discover God Everywhere (E.D.G.E.)!
